On Wednesday night’s “Jeopardy!” episode, we had one of those exact situations. One contestant, Amy, took a huge gamble during the “Final Jeopardy!” portion of the show. The category was “Sports Mascots.”

And here’s the clue (in an Alex Trebek voice): “The animal on this NBA team’s primary logo peaked about 75 million years ago.” And Amy’s answer …

Yes, choosing the Timberwolves instead of the Raptors was the incorrect choice, and Amy lost all of her money. But really, if you couldn’t remember the Raptors existed as an NBA franchise or didn’t even know they were a team in the league, it’s not a terrible guess.

So cut Amy some slack. I’m pretty sure this might have been the only “Final Jeopardy!” clue I could have figured out with any confidence if you gave me 100 in a row. Let’s all celebrate Amy’s run together while listening to Trebek spit fire rap lyrics.
